Prepare the Joint Surface - Clean the glazing, façade, or building joint thoroughly. The surfaces should be dry and free from dirt, dust, grease, loose material, and old sealant.
Mask the Joint Edges - Apply masking tape along the edges to maintain a clean and uniform sealant line.
Prepare the Cartridge and Nozzle - Cut the cartridge opening, trim the nozzle to the required joint width, attach it securely, and place the cartridge into the sealant gun.
Apply DOWSIL™ 789 - Extrude the sealant evenly and continuously into the joint, making sure there are no gaps or air pockets.
Tool the Sealant - Smooth the sealant immediately to achieve proper contact with the joint surfaces and a clean profile.
Complete and Allow to Cure - Remove masking tape and excess sealant after tooling. The typical working time is 15–30 minutes, while complete curing generally takes 7–14 days, depending on conditions.
